from Tom Timmermann of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch,
...in a Blues season that makes little sense, the Blues went out and beat the Jets 1-0 at BellMTS Place. It’s like finding a unicorn roaming on the Canadian prairie. It was a million miles from the 8-4 game, it seemed.
“I think it was a little bit of luck,” said goalie Jake Allen, who posted his first shutout in a year. “To get eight goals, you need a little bit of luck, too. It was a lot of hard work by a lot of guys. This means a lot to us right now, especially in the position we’re in, to beat one of best teams in league, inn a tough building. It was good for us.”
Colton Parayko had the game’s only goal, but the heroes for the Blues were Allen, who stopped all 26 shots he faced for his 17th career shutout, moving him into sole position of third on the Blues’ all-time list, and defenseman Robert Bortuzzo, who blocked four shots and kept some of Winnipeg’s most dangerous chances from getting to Allen.
