COLUMBUS, OHIO – Columbus Blue Jackets President of Hockey Operations John Davidson announced this evening that Scott Howson has been relieved of his duties as Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League club.
Scott Howson is a caring man who gave everything he had to the Columbus Blue Jackets over the past six years,” said Davidson. “This was a difficult decision but one that I thought was in the best interest of moving our hockey club forward. I have enjoyed working with Scott and want to thank him for his service.”
added 9:32pm, Who might replace Howson?

They’ll probably get ready to move due to low fan participation and have a wealthy local ex-athlete bail them out in the eleventh hour.

Ugh, I can’t believe I’m getting into this again, but damn, get your facts straight. You are combining about 10 years there.
Good for the Jackets. Hopefully they can turn it around. Definitely would like to see them do well.

Nah. You have a player whose outrageous contract coudn’t be payed and have to get him shares of team stock instead. What a stellar business model.
You wish your owner could be half the man that Mr I is. All the hockey programs, charities, and investments into a city that most entrepreneurs abandoned. He took it upon himself to keep the fans in this city happy and proud of their standing in the hockey world. You know it as Hockeytown.

Jim Nil would make an excellent GM.
I hope he stays in Detroit.
