How’s this for a Mother’s Day story?

In 1998, WDFN had a contest, be the 10th caller and win tickets to SCF Game 3 in Washington.

My mom won, so off we go to DC the morning of the game on a charter, party during the day and head to the game.

Wings won of course and I look at here and say, we have to stay for Game 4. Tickets were easy to come by, Caps fans were selling them below cost and the rest is history.

We witnessed the Wings winning and were glad we decided to stay.

All because of my mom being the 10th caller.
