Ducks Sign David Steckel

The Anaheim Ducks have announced a one-year two-way contract agreement with David Steckel.
The #NHLDucks have signed David Steckel to a one-year, two-way contract. Steckel has been assigned to the @NorfolkAdmirals (AHL).

According to the release from the Anaheim Ducks:
Steckel, 31 (3/15/82), has played in 418 NHL games with Washington, New Jersey, Toronto and Anaheim, scoring 33-46=79 points with 129 penalty minutes (PIM). The 6-6, 215-pound center has also appeared in 31 career Stanley Cup Playoff games with Washington and Anaheim, earning 5-4=9 points with eight PIM. Steckel was acquired by Anaheim from Toronto on Mar. 15, 2013 (in exchange for Ryan Lasch and a 2014 seventh-round draft pick) and appeared in 21 contests for the Ducks in 2012-13, earning 1-5=6 points. He won 95-of-165 faceoffs in his final 14 contests of 2012-13 for a 57.6% success rate. Steckel appeared in all seven of Anaheim’s Conference Quarterfinal contests vs. Detroit last season, collecting 1-1=2 points. In 10 NHL seasons, Steckel has compiled a career faceoff percentage of 58.3% (3031-for-5205).
Steckel has spent the start of the 2013-14 season split between Iowa and Norfolk in the American Hockey League (AHL) tallying four points, and 12 PIM with a +6 rating.
