Dallas Stars Add Patrick Sharp, Antti Niemi—Aim to Rejoin Playoff Picture in 2015-16 NHL Seaso

By Joe Sudberg,

The Dallas Stars couldn’t make back-to-back playoff appearances after failing to qualify last season. The Stars were not awful by any means, finishing with a very respectable 41-31-10 record, but in a competitive Western Conference, Dallas ended up placing sixth in the Central division and 10th overall in the conference.

But the Stars have made moves in the offseason to make sure they don’t miss out on a postseason experience again. Patrick Sharp was brought in from a trade with the defending champion Chicago Blackhawks, in addition to bolstering their goaltending by adding Antti Niemi from a deal with the San Jose Sharks. Dallas management hopes these two moves will take the Stars to the next level, in addition to adding defenseman Johnny Oduya during free agency.

There’s a lot to like about this year’s Stars team, especially their high-scoring offense, and fans will certainly enjoy the new additions. With information from SeatSmart.com, below are the most expensive Dallas Stars tickets on the secondary market for the upcoming season when the Stars try to get back into the postseason.

Most Expensive: 2/23/2016 | Winnipeg Jets vs. Dallas Stars | MTS Centre | Average Price: $484.49 | Get-in Price: $150

2/2/2016 | Winnipeg Jets vs. Dallas Stars | MTS Centre | Average Price: $449.43 | Get-in Price: $160

3/22/2016 | Chicago Blackhawks vs. Dallas Stars | United Centre | Average Price: $402.97 | Get-in Price: $83

2/11/2016 | Chicago Blackhawks vs. Dallas Stars | United Centre | Average Price: $387.13 | Get-in Price: $83

3/22/2016 | Dallas Stars vs. Chicago Blackhawks | American Airlines Arena | Average Price: $218.08 | Get-in Price: $52

The teams get a bit repetitive at the top for the Dallas Stars on the secondary market, but the current market dictates the results. The Winnipeg Jets have some of the highest early season NHL ticket prices in the league, and the two most expensive Dallas games are at the MTS Centre with an average price of $484.49 and $449.43 respectively.

Following the Jets, the next two most expensive games are against the Chicago Blackhawks, where Sharp makes his return to the United Center. The most expensive Dallas home game is also against the Blackhawks with an average price of $218.08 and a get-in price of $52 on March 22 of next year. This should come as no surprise whatsoever, as Blackhawks tickets are amongst the priciest in all of hockey.
