Give me feckin break Cleary.  I’d be thrilled to see you become a trainer/scout/coach whatever, but watching you drag your broke ass around the ice for another, one, two, or three seasons is too much for any amount of money.

Remember his awesome back-checking skills last year, after he would go down on a 3 on 2 or 3 on 1 and give the puck to the opposing “D”?

Look for much more of that.

He will costs us games this year.

Unfortunately DET thinks Dan Cleary is a busted, worthless piece of garbage and that he needs to STFU and retire already.

Don’t do this Dan.  Exit gracefully.  The fanbase will EAT YOU ALIVE and you will deserve every bit of it otherwise.

And f*ck you Holland for entertaining this BS.

Good by Tatar.  Hello Ole Danny boy!

Based on Khan’s latest tweets, it sounds like the only thing left is figuring out the numbers.

Oh well. Looks like it’s back to the AHL for the “NHL-ready” Nyquist for another year of “seasoning.”

Or maybe Tatar gets shipped so Cleary can crawl around the ice for another two years.

How would you like to be Tatar, who could’ve been earning NHL contract money for the last two years, to be told “Oh well, we’re shipping you to make room for a guy in his late 30s. Sorry about stalling your career so long. Good luck.”

I don’t buy it.  One of this tweets is this:

Holland said he expects Cleary situation to be resolved in next day or two.

And if it’s going to be resolved in the next day or two then Detroit can’t sign him.  They are, I believe, at the 50-contract cap are they not?  Unless the next day or two means they find some team who will make a trade for Tootoo, Eaves, Sammy, whoever before they’ve even evaluated their own talent, which Holland hasn’t yet been able to do in the two months he’s been trying to unload contracts, then I just don’t see how signing in Detroit is an option.  Or maybe in the next day or two Holland convinces Cleary to retire and take a position in the organization if he wants to stay in Detroit.

Maybe it’s just pathetic wishful thinking, but I don’t see it happening.

Hell, look at the interview with Holland in here http://kuklaskorner.com/tmr/comments/video-holland-talks-cleary and Holland certainly doesn’t look to enthused about it.  “Well, there’s always a chance” isn’t a ringing endorsement.

Looks like we have an addition to the list of 2-3 red wings the fans hate irrationally every year.

Sammy (naturally), now Cleary.  Looking to fill one more roster spot.  My money would be on Quincey.

Holland said putting someone on injured reserve and signing Cleary is not an option. They would need to trade or waive somebody.

Who provides the space.  We all know Sammy and Bert aren’t going anywhere.  It’s Gus and probably also Tatar, right?  Or they could trade Abby insert Danny boy on the top line!!!!

Probably they trade Zetterberg and insert Danny boy on the top line.  Remember how much he totally didn’t drag down the Abby/Datsyuk/Cleary line last year?  Gotta recapture that magic.

I am not a big fan of soap operas, but, this one has my attention. I cannot understand, for the life of me, why KH would be willing to offer Cleary another contract, seeing the way he rejected what was offered to him in July.
And, he is on the decline. Like Garth said in another thread,

“How about the guy who, on a larger sample, dragged down the play of the best player on the team for a good portion of the season after having declined season after season?

But why would that matter?  14 games is all that matters, why not sign him to a 100 year contract?

Posted by Garth on 09/11/13 at 04:53 PM ET

I like the youngsters a whole lot better that Buckets. It’s time to move on. Period.

Fuching stupid signing.  Uncle Mike needs a swift steel-toed boot in the ass for insisting on getting Buckets in the fold.

Unless the moves that are going to have to be made to make this feasable somehow result in a Top 2 dman, this is insanity.

Rumor on HFB is that Toto Too is being pkgd to Oilers. That would provide current space for signing.

Well, that kind of makes sense for the Slicks to get a guy to stand up for Hall, Yakupov, Eberle, etc.
