According To Therrien All Is Well With Subban

Montreal Canadiens head coach Michel Therrien dismissed any speculation of a bad relationship with P.K. Subban after his decision to bench the star defenceman for half a period in Wednesday night's 3-1 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers.

"I've got a great relationship with P.K.," Therrien told reporters after the team's practice in Brossard on Friday. "We communicate a lot. And he understands our decision (to bench him) and totally agrees."

Therrien drew plenty of criticism from fans and the local media over the last couple of days after benching Subban for about 10 minutes after he took an unnecessary roughing penalty at the end of the second period against the Phildelphia Flyers. The Canadiens lost the game 3-1.

"We're making a big story honestly that as far as I'm concerned isn't such a big thing," he said.
