With Playoff Berth Clinched, Rangers Set To Host Pair of This Week’s Top-Priced Games

04/05/2016 at 8:44pm EDT

From Joe Sudberg,

After six months of battle, the 2015-16 NHL season has boiled down to the final week of regular season play. Every point counts over the next six days, and the pushing and shoving for playoff positioning will officially conclude on Sunday night. There will be no shortage of marquee games as the regular season dwindles, either, and the New York Rangers get set to host two pivotal Eastern Conference games against the New York Islanders and Detroit Red Wings this week. The Chicago Blackhawks, Boston Bruins and Philadelphia Flyers will also return home to play big games against the St. Louis Blues, Ottawa Senators and Boston Bruins, respectively.

Seeding on the line for each hosting team, and it’s no surprise that each game is posting playoff-like ticket prices on the secondary market. Check out the complete list of this week’s top-priced NHL games below, according to data provided by Razorgator:

4/7/16 New York Islanders @ New York Rangers | Avg. Price: $305.02 | Get-in: $108

Barring a series meeting in the postseason, the fourth and final game between the New York Islanders and New York Rangers will be held at Madison Square Garden on Thursday night. The Islanders, who currently own the first Wild Card spot in the East, have taken it to the Rangers this season, winning all three previous meetings. The interborough matchup will be the most expensive NHL game on average this week, with NY Rangers tickets against the Islanders averaging $305.02. The cheapest ticket is currently listed for $115.

The hustle and bustle of Midtown Manhattan is enough for any traveling fan to lay a heavy hand on the car horn. ParkWhiz takes the stress out of the commute and gives fans the best options for Madison Square Garden parking in independent lots and garages surrounding the arena. MSG parking on ParkWhiz starts from just $10 for Thursday’s Isles-Rangers game.

4/9/16 Detroit Red Wings @ New York Rangers | Avg. Price: $302.56 | Get-in: $122

A Saturday matinee at The World’s Most Famous Arena is in store for the Rangers, who set to welcome the Red Wings in their final game of the regular season. The Red Wings cling to the third spot in the Atlantic division and appear poised to clinch a 25th-straight playoff berth. With the postseason on the horizon for both clubs, the average resale price for Rangers vs Red Wings tickets is $302.56. The cheapest ticket to Sunday’s game is currently $122.

4/7/16 St. Louis Blues @ Chicago Blackhawks | Avg. Price: $276.25 | Get-in: $102

With the second and third seeds in the Central division, the Blues and Blackhawks are destined for a first-round matchup, and their final regular season meeting on Thursday will be a nice preview of what’s to come. Blackhawks tickets vs Blues at United Center own a resale average of $276.25 and the get-in price starts from $102. The two teams have split their four previous meetings this season, with their last game ending in a 3-2 shootout win for the Blues on March 9.

4/9/16 Ottawa Senators @ Boston Bruins | Avg. Price: $266.58 | Get-in: $123

The Senators are well out of the playoff hunt, but the Bruins continue to scrape for every last point in the Eastern Conference. The Bruins sit behind the Flyers for the second Wild Card spot and hope to leapfrog over a Philadelphia team that has turned it on in the late stages of the season. Bruins vs Senators tickets currently average $266.58 and the get-in price is $123 on the secondary market.

4/9/16 Pittsburgh Penguins @ Philadelphia Flyers | Avg. Price: $242.55 | Get-in: $146

What better way to conclude the season than with a rivalry game? The Penguins have continued to roll despite the losses of key players Evgeni Malkin and Olli Maatta and will likely finish the season with the second seed in the Metropolitan division. They’ll look to continue their winning ways against the Flyers at Wells Fargo Center on Saturday afternoon. Tickets to the game currently average $242.55 on the resale market and the get-in price is $146.
