The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that the team has acquired forward Lars Eller from the Washington Capitals in exchange for Colorado's second-round selection in the 2025 NHL Draft.

Eller, 33, has recorded 16 points (7g/9a) in 60 games for Washington this season. A first-round selection (13th overall) of the St. Louis Blues in the 2007 NHL Draft, Eller has collected 364 points (160g/204a) in 930 career NHL games with the Blues, Montreal and Washington. He ranks third all-time in scoring by a Danish player and his 27 career game-winning tallies are tied with Nikolaj Ehlers for the most ever by a Danish player.

Eller has produced 30 or more points in five of his 12 NHL seasons, including four of his last five campaigns, setting career highs in points (39) in the shortended 2019-20 season, a career-high in goals (18) in 2017-18 and career-best in assists in both 2018-19 and 2019-20.
