Watch as New York Rangers forwards Chris Kreider and Mika Zibanejad score two power-play goals, with the goaltender pulled, in the final five minutes of their Stadium Series game against the New York Islanders to help force overtime.
Then 10 seconds into OT, the Rangers score again...
This game was vomit inducing. Patrick Roy should have played goal for us. So glad I did not go. The Rag$ were very beatable - Shesterkin was swiss cheese. Losing to the Rag$ is simply out of the question, and it's not the coach. Lou put a team on the ice that is past due. Has some very good players but with the 32nd best penalty kill in the NHL - ain't going to win nothing.
What I found objectionable was the fact that the NHL clearly favors the Rag$. Due to their lease - if the Rag$ play a league game outside of MSG - they lose their tax free status for city tax. This is why the Buffalo Sabres were the "home team' at CITI Field for the Winter Classic. So the Rag$ organist is playing at this game, the Rag goal song was played at an Islanders home game - The traditional Islanders "Military Hero of the Game' was a Rag$ fan and the comeback the Rag$ staged feed into this....and the league must be overjoyed by it. That idiot band wearing the Rag$ jersey at an Isles "home game" - turned my stomach as well - mostly because they sucked. Just call it a neutral site game.
I can't complain too much about the penalties with 4 mins left and 2 mins left - but you knew it would happen and the Isles are the only NHL team this year who has not scored an empty net goal...The correct call was made in OT, but of course - we have to lose in a quasi-controversial way. I'm trying not to lose my religion here - but - this team is toast. Time to get a new GM.
The Rangers and the Slackhawks are two of Bettman's Favorites as he said so on ESPN a couple of months ago before catching himself and saying the other NHL teams are also important. He probably caught himself before adding Pittsburgh also. 😡
