Id like to feel sorry for him and all but on the ice a couple a weeks ago he got away with a slewfoot on DeBrincat that resulted in DeBrincat getting the only penalty. So, theres that (Yes, I know he got suspended after the fact).
Should be no penalty to kane.
Otherwise this turns into the No Hits League.
Yeah. That boarding call was complete BS. This league is becoming a no hit league for sure. Cannot have your investments getting hurt. I love that Tortorella call this out recently. Pretty soon there will be no blue line/offsides and it will be the Ice Capades.
live by it , die by it..
Tortorella had a point about players protecting themselves from hits. But at the same time blaming a guy for getting drilled because he wasnt properly prepared follows a similar logic as telling a woman she wouldnt be cat called if she didnt dress that way. Responsibility lies with the person throwing the hit just as much as the recipient and Im so tired of the tough guy excuses that get made for them. Not a single person here its going to be happy if this happens to Larkin or Kane or DeBrincat, and so on. And Ill stop at saying that all of these players have careers theyd like to keep going and families who dont want to see them hurt. Sorry kid, your dad was too busy admiring his pass, is a pretty poor excuse.
In Reaves defense, the rules need to be adjusted to allow him to apply a bear hug in this situation so he has a solid option to make a play without drilling a guy from behind into the boards. I think the way the league calls interference leads to a lot of this crap as well. But the league values goals over player safety, and we all know why.
