I dont see interference by the attacking team there. Crazy. But, you know which team it benefitted :)
Can we just bring back the damned crease rule and do away with all the unnecessary legal drama? All weve learned in the last twenty years is that goalie interference is impossible to judge in a consistent manner.
As soon as the opposing team enters the paint an automatic faceoff in that end. Only thing to look at is the skate in the paint then.
Exactly.
Leave it to the NHL to muddy up a rule could be black and white.
Also, and Ive said this before: make the refs take questions after the game. Its BS that they get to toss a teams night into the trash bin and go straight to the hotel without any accountability. I bet the players and coaches wish they could do that.
Very obvious that the offensive player had both feet in the crease. The ref nailed it.
I see the case for goaltender interference. The Ducks player kind of pinned the Pitt player in the crease, while positioning himself in the crease.
I see this as clear interference. The Duck skated into the crease pushing Karlsson into the goalie and it's easy to see the goalie doesn't have an unimpeded ability to make the save, because two other players are in the crease.
Looked like goalie interference to me... we've certainly seen far worse called over the years.
This is painful for me .... because the refs got it right and it helped the Pens. Also, my old buddy Ross Johnston would have had a goal here. But they got this one right.
