The Edmonton Oilers have signed forward Cooper Marody to a three-year entry level contract.
Marody, 21, spent the 2017-18 season with the University of Michigan Wolverines (BIG-10), leading the team with 50 points and assists (34), ranked second in goals (16) and led Michigan with a +20 plus/minus rating.
He set career highs in 2017-18 in games played (40), goals (16), assists (35), points (51), penalty minutes (24) and plus/minus (+20).
The 6’0”, 190-pound forward recorded four points (2G, 2A) in the NCAA tournament, helping Michigan advance to the NCAA Frozen Four.
The Brighton, Michigan native has spent three seasons with the University of Michigan, accumulating 90 points (31G, 59A) and 52 penalty minutes in 90 career NCAA games.
Marody was originally selected by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 6th round, 158th overall in the 2015 NHL Draft.
