Evolving Hockey and AFP Analytics contract projections: $2 million cap hit/1-year deal, $3.3 million cap hit/4-year dealBrown feels like the right kind of buy for the Leafs for a variety of reasons.

Michael Bunting also has two line mates named Matthews and Marner. Big difference. Put Bert and that line, and if he can stay healthy, then look at this numbers after over 100 plus games.
5.5 mil for 4 years?! If that's all that would take, I would assume Bert would have been extended instead of traded. Didn't we all assume Bert was looking for 7/$49 deal and his price actually went up after the playoffs?
Agreed. I had assumed he wanted either too much money or too long a term for Yzerman to be interested. Getting him at 5.5 for 4 years would have been great. Considering his contributions in the playoffs, I'll be shocked if he doesn't get more than those numbers somewhere. Hell, Boston could probably fit him in at those numbers and we know both parties liked that fit.
I think Bertuzzi is able to get 6-6.5M and 5-7 years on the open market (he reportedly wants 7M per year and his reps had a history of high demands/contested contracts with the Wings). The Bruins might want him at 5.5M for 4 years, but he's going to the market--that's why SY traded him.
