As teams start to figure out where they might be headed this season, a look at some trade options for all 30 teams, Backstrom, Oshie, Frolik and more in Scott Cullen’s Statistically Speaking.
These are NOT rumours, more like looking at options and contract situations that might make some sense to each team.
Anaheim: If they’re intent on keeping Cam Fowler, then the Ducks’ best shot to save money may be to move Clayton Stoner or Kevin Bieksa for an inexpensive third-line winger. As far back as the summer, it was assumed that Anaheim would deal a defenceman for forward help, just based on their roster balance, but it hasn’t happened yet.
Arizona: Unless the Coyotes are going to re-sign Martin Hanzal, they probably ought to scope out the market for the 6-foot-6 centre. If he continues to produce deeper into the season, there may be a market for Radim Vrbata too. Defenceman Kevin Connauton would be expendable, but probably won’t generate a lot of interest.
continue to TSN for the rest of the NHL teams, pretty informative too...
