The St. Louis Blues Have Signed Martin Havlat, Release Dainus Zubrus From PTO

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has signed forward Martin Havlat to a one-year contract.

In addition, the Blues released forward Dainius Zubrus from his professional tryout.

Havlat will wear No. 29.

Havlat, 34, spent last season with the New Jersey Devils, where he registered 14 points (five goals, nine assists) and 10 penalty minutes in 40 regular season games. The 6-foot-2, 209-pound forward was originally drafted by Ottawa in the first round (26th overall) of the 1999 NHL Draft and went on to be named to the 2000-01 NHL All-Rookie Team in his first season.
