from Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch,
Whether the Blues ultimately catch the Nashville Predators for the top spot in the Central Division remains to be seen. But with the games starting to dwindle before playoff time, the Blues may be dreading the point they yielded late to the defending Western Conference champions Tuesday at Bridgestone Arena.
Playing in a building where the Preds rarely lose, the Blues were rolling along with a 3-0 lead with the meter running in the third period. But the lead and a chance for a statement victory was swept away in a bitter 4-3 overtime loss to the Predators.
After two goals by Nashville's Austin Watson over a 75-second span tied the game at 3-3 late in the third period, Filip Forsberg sent the crowd of 17,221 home happy on a penalty shot in one minute 19 seconds into overtime. Jaden Schwartz was the player whistled for the infraction -- tripping -- that gave Forsberg the shot.
