Panthers Are Done

We are gathered here today to say goodbye to the 2005-06 Florida Panthers. Well, hello and goodbye as the Panthers' March resuscitation drew little attention, what with Daunte, Shaq, Flash, Gator hoops and Tiger (for a week) for South Florida to discuss. But then seven consecutive wins and a run of 12-5 with one shootout loss had them off their deathbed. Alas, the Panthers passed away Wednesday night around 9:10 p.m. when Atlanta's Marian Hossa remembered he used to be Joe's to the Panthers' stone crabs. Hossa outmuscled and outraced two Panthers and roofed a shorthanded goal.
