Bishop lifts the Lightning into the second round; Malkin, Murray, Kane and more in Scott Cullen's Statistically Speaking.
The Tampa Bay Lightning are moving on to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs after earning a 1-0 win in Game Five against Detroit.
Lightning LW Alex Killorn was the lone goal-scorer in the game, and he finished the series with five points (3 G, 2 A), ranking third on the Lightning, behind RW Nikita Kucherov (5 G, 3 A) and C Tyler Johnson (2 G, 5 A).
The biggest difference in the series, however, may have been in goal, as Lightning G Ben Bishop stopped all 34 shots that he faced - including three clear-cut breakaways - in the series-clinching victory, and finished Round One with a .950 save percentage. He was my pick for the Vezina this year, so it shouldn't be a major surprise that Bishop could tilt the balance in the series.
With Bishop shutting the door, the Red Wings managed a total of eight goals in five games, and only two Detroit skaters - LW Tomas Tatar (3 A) and D Mike Green (1 G, 1 A) - recorded more than a single point in the series.
