DUCHENE CAPS SENATORS RALLY WITH QUICK OVERTIME GOAL
Ottawa overcame deficits of 1-0, 4-1 and 5-2 before Matt Duchene (2-1—3) scored seven seconds into overtime to power the Senators to a comeback win over the Sharks. Duchene’s game-winning goal was one second shy of the NHL record for fastest to begin a regular-season overtime period(0:06), which was last achieved by Red Wings forward Andreas Athanasiou on Wednesday against the Senators.

* Elias notes that the Senators, who trailed 5-2 through 40 minutes, overcame a deficit of at least three goals in the third period to win for the third time in franchise history (also Nov. 5, 1993 at WINand Oct. 29, 2011 at NYR).

GOLDEN KNIGHTS CONTINUE TO ROLL
Reilly Smith
(1-2—3) scored the go-ahead goal with 6:07 remaining in regulation to help the Golden Knights (28-10-2, 58 points) improve to 13-1-1 (27 points) in their last 15 contests dating to Dec. 3, the most wins by any team over that span.

* The Golden Knights sit atop the Western Conference standings with 28 wins and 58 points just 40 games into their first season. Only two teams to debut after the 1967-68 season have recorded more victories in their inaugural campaign.

* Malcolm Subban (28 saves) improved to 11-2-0 this season (2.38 GAA, .918 SV%), including wins in each of his last seven outings dating to Dec. 3 (7-0-0, 2.50 GAA, .913 SV%).

PENGUINS REBOUND FROM SHUTOUT LOSS WITH 4-0 WIN
Sidney Crosby
(1-3—4) factored on all four goals to help the Penguins rebound from a 4-0 loss on Thursday with a 4-0 win on Friday. Elias notes that Pittsburgh earned a shutout win the day after suffering a shutout loss for the second time in franchise history (also Jan. 18-19, 2008).

* Crosby has recorded 33-74—107 in 60 career regular-season contests vs. NYI (1.78 P/GP), his highest career point total against one opponent.

* Elias adds that Crosby registered his 31st career game with at least four points, the most by any player in the NHL since making his League debut in 2005-06.

JETS, RED WINGS PICK UP WINS
The Jets (24-11-7, 55 points) and Red Wings (17-16-7, 41 points) each picked up wins to continue recent strings of success:

* Bryan Little scored the game-winning goal early in the third period and Connor Hellebuyck made 26 saves to help the Jets improve to 15-3-1 (31 points) at Bell MTS Place this season. Hellebuyck improved to 22-4-6 overall this season (2.40 GAA, .922 SV%, 3 SO), including a 15-1-1 clip on home ice (2.24 GAA, .925 SV%, 2 SO).

* Henrik Zetterberg collected the 600th assist of his NHL career (all w/ DET) to help the Red Wingsextend their season-high win streak to four games and their home point streak to seven contests (5-0-2). Zetterberg became the sixth player in franchise history to record at least 600 career assists with Detroit and moved within four of tying long-time teammate Pavel Datsyuk (604) for fifth on the Red Wings' all-time list.
