TOP TEAMS FACE OFF IN MONTREAL
Two of the top teams in the NHL face off when the League-leading Canadiens (19-4-3, 41 points) welcome the No. 4 Capitals (17-5-1, 35 points) to Bell Centre. Both clubs rank in the top five in goals for and against per game this season; Montreal is second with 3.42 goals for per game and third with 2.15 goals against per game, while Washington is tied for third with 3.22 goals for per game and ranks fifth with 2.22 goals against per game. This marks the first of three meetings in 2015-16 between these Eastern Conference foes; the Capitals have earned at least one point in 15 of their last 17 head-to-head matchups (12-2-3) since the Canadiens eliminated them in seven games in the 2010 Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.
