SEDIN HITS MILESTONE
Vancouver forward Daniel Sedin scored the 300th goal of his NHL career to help the Canucks defeat the Ottawa Senators 5-2 in a match-up preview of the 2014 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic. Sedin is the third Canucks player to reach the 300-goal milestone (Markus Naslund - 346, Trevor Linden - 318). He now has seven points (2-5--7) in his last four games and is tied for 15th in League scoring with 24 points (9-15--24).
*According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Sedin becomes the fifth active player with 300 or more goals with the same franchise. He joins: Patrick Marleau (Sharks, 415 goals), Alex Ovechkin (Capitals, 391), Patrik Elias (Devils 380) and Shane Doan (Jets/Coyotes, 342).
*Daniel Sedin‘s 300 goals rank sixth all-time in goals scored amongst Swedish-born players. Detroit’s Daniel Alfredsson (430) is the only active Swedish player with more goals.
