* Ilya Bryzgalov made 19 saves to record his first postseason shutout since he posted three in a row for Anaheim from May 3-7, 2006. It was the second postseason shutout in Minnesota Wild franchise history, after Darcy Kuemper blanked the Avalanche in Game 3 of their First Round series. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Marc-Andre Fleury and Tomas Vokoun are the last goalie tandem to each post a shutout in the same postseason, doing so for Pittsburgh in their First Round series in 2013.

* Zach Parise tallied 1-1—2 for his third multi-point game of the playoffs and the 14th of his career. Parise (4-9—13) trails Anze Kopitar (4-10—14) by a single point for the playoff scoring lead.

* Justin Fontaine earned his first career playoff point on a stellar feed to Erik Haula, who opened the scoring for Minnesota in the third, and now has 1-2—3 on a three-game point streak.

* Mikael Granlund recorded his first career two-goal game (playoffs and regular season), improving to 4-3—7 in his first postseason.

SUBBAN SPARKS CANADIENS TO 2-1 SERIES LEAD
The Montreal Canadiens remain undefeated at home in the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs after holding off a Bruins comeback attempt in Game 3 to take a 2-1 series lead.

* P.K. Subban scored on a beautiful breakaway deke and added an assist. He has now earned multiple points in five of his last six games, including each of his last three contests. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Subban is only the third Canadiens defenseman to record three straight multi-point games in the playoffs, joining Larry Robinson (twice; 1987 and in 1978 with a five-game multi-point streak) and J.C. Tremblay in 1971. Subban had only one multi-point game in 26 postseason appearances prior to the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

* Subban extended his point streak to six games (3-8—11). According to the Elias Sports Bureau, he is the first Canadiens defenseman to record a six-game playoff point streak since Robinson did so in Montreal’s second round series against the Quebec Nordiques from April 21-May 2, 1985. Subban's 11 points currently lead all defensemen and rank third overall in the postseason.

* Dale Weise posted 1-1—2 for his first ever multi-point playoff game. It was only the second multi-point game of Weise’s 192-game career (regular season and playoffs), and the first time he has tallied both a goal and an assist in the same game. Weise’s only two career postseason goals have come this year, both of which were game-winners.

* Montreal delivered the Bruins their first Game 3 loss in Boston’s last 13 playoff series dating back to the 2010 Eastern Conference quarterfinals (12-1). Montreal improved to 3-9 in their last 12 Game 3s.

* Carey Price made 26 saves to improve to 6-1 in the playoffs with a 2.47 goals against average and a .912 save percentage.

HOME SWEET HOME
With two victories on Tuesday, home teams improved to 38-21 (.644) in the 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs, including a 23-8 mark (.742) by Western Conference clubs. Last year, home teams earned a record 59 wins in the postseason (59-27, .686), including a 20-4 mark in the second round (.833).

The NHL announced the starting times for Saturday’s schedule of Second Round games:

* The starting time for Game 5 between the Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens has been set for 7:00 p.m. ET in Boston. In the U.S., the game will be televised on NBCSN. In Canada, the game will be televised on CBC and RDS.

* The starting time for Game 4 of the series between the Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings has been set for 9:30 p.m. ET/6:30 p.m. PT in Los Angeles. In the U.S., the game will be televised on NBCSN. In Canada, the game will be on TSN and RDS.

Patrice Bergeron scored for the second straight contest, pushing his career-long playoff point streak to seven games (3-6—9). According to the Elias Sports Bureau, he is the first Bruins player to record a seven-game playoff point streak since Adam Oates earned points in nine straight games from May 1-23, 1992 . . . Torey Krug earned an assist to extend his point streak to five games (2-4—6) . . . Milan Lucic tallied an assist to give him 3-3—6 on a five-game point streak… Tomas Plekanec opened the scoring for Montreal to extend his playoff point streak to a career-long five games (2-3—5). He has a point in six of Montreal’s seven games in the postseason . . . Mike Babcock (DET), Jon Cooper (TB) and Patrick Roy (COL) were announced as the three finalists for the 2013-14 Jack Adams Award . . . The Nashville Predators announced that Peter Laviolette has been named the second head coach in team history and Kevin McCarthy has been added as an assistant coach . . . The Tampa Bay Lightning signed goaltender Andrei Vasilevskii, a 2012 first round draft pick, to a three-year entry-level contract.
