THREE HARD LAPS

* Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak each recorded multiple points to push the Bruins’ winning streak to four games and take a 1-0 series lead over the Lightning.

* Robin Lehner earned his first career shutout as the Golden Knights improved to 8-1 in the 2020 postseason with a Game 1 victory over the Canucks.

* The Flyers and Islanders will meet in the playoffs for the first time in 33 years when they face off in Game 1 on Monday.

MARCHAND, PASTRNAK LEAD BRUINS TO VICTORY IN GAME 1
The Boston duo of Brad Marchand (1-1—2) and David Pastrnak (1-1—2) each posted a multi-point outing to help lift the Bruins to a Game 1 victory. Boston improved to 4-0-0 in its last four games to mark the second consecutive postseason that they have recorded a win streak of four or more contests (also 8-0-0 in the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs).

* Marchand boosted his career postseason totals to 34-58—92 (117 GP) to match Bobby Orr (26-66–92 in 74 GP) for the seventh-most playoff points in Bruins history. Additionally, since his playoff debut in 2011, Marchand’s 92 postseason points are tied with David Krejci (32-60–92 in 114 GP) for the most among Bruins players.

* Marchand registered his 28th career multi-point playoff game and his fourth of the 2020 postseason, including three consecutive such outings against the Hurricanes (Game 1, 2 and 3 of 2020 R1). Only two players have recorded more in Bruins history: Ray Bourque (46) and Phil Esposito (29).

* Pastrnak, who scored his second goal of the postseason, has tallied 50 goals in 2019-20 (48 in the regular season; 2 in the postseason). The last Bruins player to score 50 goals in a season (regular season and playoffs combined) was Cam Neely in 1993-94 – who accomplished the feat in just 49 regular-season games.

GOLDEN KNIGHTS BLANK CANUCKS TO TAKE 1-0 SERIES LEAD

Five different goal-scorers found the back of the net and Robin Lehner made 26 saves for his first career playoff shutout as the Golden Knights took a 1-0 lead in their Second Round series against the Canucks. Vegas holds an all-time series record of 3-1 (.750) when leading 1-0 in a best-of-seven.

* Lehner improved to 6-1 this postseason with a 2.09 goals-against average and .918 save percentage. Since joining the Golden Knights on Feb. 24, Lehner has posted a 9-1 record with the club (regular season and playoffs combined).

* Lehner became the second Golden Knights goaltender to record a shutout in the playoffs – his teammate Marc-Andre Fleury has recorded five with the franchise including four during their historic run to a Stanley Cup Final appearance in 2018.

* Vegas’ balanced attack saw 11 different skaters record a point in Game 1, including four skaters who posted multiple points. The Golden Knights lead all teams in the 2020 playoffs in goals for (35) and goals for per game (3.89). Sixteen different skaters have contributed to their 35 goals, the most among all teams this postseason.

* One of Reilly Smith (1-1—2) or Jonathan Marchessault (1-0—1) — who are first and second, respectively, on the Golden Knights’ all-time playoff points list — have recorded a point on 43.5% of Vegas’ all-time playoff goals (51 of 117).

PREVIEW OF TODAY’S ACTION
The third day of the Second Round begins with the Islanders and Flyers going head-to-head in Game 1 at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, and ends with Game 2 between the Stars and Avalanche at Rogers Place in Edmonton (DAL leads 1-0).

* Teams that go up 1-0 in a best-of-seven series hold an all-time series record of 485-220 (.688), while teams that go up 2-0 in a best of seven series hold an all-time series record of 328-51 (.865).

ISLANDERS, FLYERS TO CONTEST FINAL GAME 1 OF SECOND ROUND
The Islanders and Flyers are the final Second Round series to commence as the clubs are set to meet in the playoffs for the first time in 33 years and fifth time overall. Philadelphia won three of the previous four series, while the Islanders’ lone win was in the 1980 Stanley Cup Final – the first of four straight championships for the franchise.

* The Islanders won all three contests against the Flyers during the 2019-20 regular season (PHI: 0-2-1), outscoring them 13-9. Both teams overcame a three-goal deficit (PHI on Feb. 11; NYI on Nov. 16), with New York also completing the comeback in the third period to win 4-3 in a shootout.

* Mathew Barzal led all skaters on both teams during the 2019-20 regular-season series with 2-3—5 in 3 GP. The only player to record more than five pointsagainst the Flyers during the 2019-20 regular season was Penguins forward Sidney Crosby (2-4—6 in 3 GP).

* Carter Hart, who has posted a 6-2 record in his first eight playoffs games (1.71 GAA, .943 SV%), can become the third goaltender in the last decade to require less than 10 games to earn his seventh career playoff win. Only two netminders since 2010 have begun their postseason careers with seven wins within their first 10 games: Matt Murray (7 wins in 9 GP in 2016) and Tuukka Rask (7 wins in 9 GP in 2010).

HIGH-FLYING AVALANCHE, STARS SET FOR GAME 2

The Avalanche and Stars are set for Game 2 of their Second Round series after the teams combined for eight goals in Game 1 as Dallas established a 1-0 series lead. Dallas holds an all-time series record of 20-9 (.690) when leading 1-0 in a best-of-seven series, while Colorado is 7-9 (.438) when trailing 1-0.

* The Stars enter Game 2 on a four-game winning streak after earning victories in the final three games of their First Round series against the Flames and winning Game 1 against the Avalanche on Saturday. The last time the Stars won five consecutive postseason games was during the 1999 Stanley Cup Playoffs en route to capturing the franchise’s first Stanley Cup.

* Miro Heiskanen currently leads the Stars in scoring during the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs with 3-10—13 (10 GP). Heiskanen, who is averaging 1.30 points per game in the 2020 postseason, sits two points shy of the single-postseason franchise mark for points by a defenseman set by Craig Hartsburg in 1981 (3-12—15 in 19 GP).

* The Avalanche, who are the only team to boast four players with 10 or more points in the 2020 postseason, have scored 34 goals through nine games. The Avalanche have only recorded more goals through the team’s first 10 games of a postseason twice since moving to Colorado: 43 in 1997 and 37 in 1996.

* Nathan MacKinnon registered 2-1—3 in Game 1 versus Dallas to extend his playoff point streak to nine games – tied for the second-longest such run in Avalanche/Nordiques history. The only players with a longer stretch: Joe Sakic (10 GP 1996 w/ COL) and Marian Stastny (10 GP 1982 w/ QUE).

* MacKinnon (17-28—45 in 34 GP) is one postseason point shy of matching Dale Hunter (17-29—46 in 86 GP) for 13th place on the Avalanche/Nordiques’ all-time list. MacKinnon, who averages a franchise-best 1.32 points per game in the postseason (min. 10 GP), has played in 52 fewer playoff games than Hunter.
