Once a bully knows they can get away with murder in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, there’s only way to stop a killing spree.
Someone’s gotta pick up the Captain’s spine. Someone’s gotta let Benn know that this won’t stand. And neither will he.
-Sean Keeler of the Denver Post where you can read more on the Jamie Benn hit.
I'm agreeing with a Denver Post writer? Count me shocked for one.
Oh. They have NO idea what Benn has just done.
I can't stand Benn as much as I don't like Marchand, but they're the necessary villains requisite of any NHL playoff year.
As much as I'd love to see someone put Benn in his place, it's not going to happen. I don't know the Avs well enough to know if they have any tough guys, but I don't see anything happening which might risk a guy getting kicked out of a game.
I agree completely.
The same goes for any losing team who, once the game is decided, clutches/grabs/facewashes/punches the opposition after every whistle (see Boston). If I'm Florida I'm starting whoever I need to for the opening face off and at puck drop jumping all 5 Bruins on the ice. Penalties be damned.
Ben is a dirt bag and he is not a villain this league needs. That's asinine.
