34-YEAR-OLD GETZLAF REACHES 1,000-GAME MILESTONE . . .
Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf (0-1—1), 34, became the first player to appear in 1,000 career regular-season games with the franchise – who coincidentally were playing their 2,000th all-time contest since joining the NHL in 1993-94.

* Getzlaf has appeared in exactly 50% of the all-time regular-season games contested by Anaheim (1,000 of 2,000), representing the eighth-highest such percentage by a player with an NHL franchise (min. 1,000 GP contested by club).



* The Ducks honored Getzlaf during a first-period stoppage of play with a video tribute outlining several of his career accomplishments – including being drafted in 2003, scoring his first NHL goal in 2005 and capturing the Stanley Cup in 2007.

. . . AS 19-YEAR-OLD BOQVIST SCORES FIRST CAREER GOAL IN BLACKHAWKS WIN
Adam Boqvist, 19, scored the first goal of his NHL career and Patrick Kane (1-1—2) tallied 24 seconds into overtime as the Blackhawks spoiled a night of milestones at Honda Center. Boqvist (born Aug. 15, 2000), the eighth overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft, became the franchise’s first defenseman born in the 2000s to score a goal.

* Boqvist (19 years, 80 days) became the third-youngest defenseman in franchise history to score a regular-season goal, following Harold Jackson (18 years, 173 days) on Jan. 21, 1937 (1-0—1 vs. NYR) and Steve McCarthy (18 years, 245 days) on Oct. 6, 1999 (1-0—1 at VAN).

VRANA SCORES FIRST CAREER HAT TRICK AS CAPITALS EXTEND STREAKS
Jakub Vrana (3-0—3) scored the first hat trick of his NHL career – his second straight multi-goal outing (also 2-0—2 vs. BUF on Nov. 1) – to help the League-leading Capitals (11-2-3, 25 points) extend their point streak to nine games (8-0-1), including four straight wins. At least one Washington player has scored multiple goals in each of its last six games dating to Oct. 22, matching the longest such run in franchise history set from Feb. 7-24, 1987.



* Vrana (9-5—14 in 16 GP) has scored the Capitals’ first goal five times in 2019-20 – tied for the fifth-most such tallies through the team’s first 16 games in a season. He has scored six of his nine goals this season in the opening 20 minutes of games, the second-most first-period markers in the NHL behind Bruins forward David Pastrnak (8).

TOP SCORERS IN ACTION ON FOUR-GAME MONDAY NIGHT

Four of the NHL’s six 20-point players are in action tonight: David Pastrnak (13-14—27 in 13 GP), Brad Marchand (8-15—23 in 13 GP) and the Bruins put lengthy streaks on the line, while the Oilers duo of Leon Draisaitl (13-13—26 in 15 GP) and Connor McDavid (6-17—23 in 15 GP) aim for a win in head coach Dave Tippett’s first game against his former club.

* Pastrnak (13-14—27 in 11 GP) can match the longest point streak of his career (Nov. 22 – Dec. 18, 2017: 5-9—14 in 12 GP) as he looks to become the first player since 2005-06 to average two points-per-game through his team’s first 14 games of a season. He already is one of six different players since 1993-94 to post 27 points through 13 team games.

* Marchand (8-15—23 in 12 GP) can become the third Bruins player in the past 25 years to record a point streak of at least 13 games — Phil Kessel (18 GP in 2008-09) and Adam Oates (20 GP in 1996-97) are the only Boston skaters to do so since 1994-95.

* Draisaitl (7 G in 5 GP) can set a career high with a goal in a sixth straight game. The last Oilers player to post a goal streak of six or more games was Jimmy Carson in 1988-89 (Nov. 23 – Dec. 4, 1988: 12 G in 7 GP). Draisaitl is one of four players to post a five-game goal streak in 2019-20, with Derick Brassard holding the only other active run.

* Tippett served as Coyotes head coach for eight seasons from 2009-10 to 2016-17, leading the team to a 282-257-83 mark in the regular season and a trip to the Conference Finals in 2011-12.
