NHL MORNING SKATE

KANE ACCOMPLISHES RARE FEAT WITH ANOTHER 30-ASSIST SEASON

Patrick Kane (0-3—3) posted his 15th career outing with at least three assists as the Blackhawks improved to 10-0-0 against the Penguins dating to Jan. 21, 2015 (PIT: 0-7-3). Chicago also snapped Pittsburgh’s eight-game win streak.

* Kane (23-31—54) became the first player in Blackhawks franchise history to begin his career with at least 30 assists in 12 consecutive seasons. With the accomplishment, Kane also became the 20th player in NHL history, and first American-born skater, to start his career with 30 or more helpers in at least 12 straight seasons.

* Kane, who has led his teammates in scoring each of the last three seasons, trails only his opponent Sunday, Sidney Crosby, for the most points since the beginning of the 2010-11 campaign.

GOLDEN KNIGHTS RALLY TO EXTEND TRIO OF STREAKS
After falling behind 2-0 in the first period, the Golden Knights (26-15-4, 56 points) scored three unanswered goals, including a second straight game-winning goal from Max Pacioretty, en route to extending their overall point streak to nine contests (7-0-2) and earning their sixth straight victory.

* Vegas, who owns the League’s longest active home point streak (9-0-2 since Nov. 23), sits one contest shy of matching the 12-game home point streak accomplished in its inaugural season (10-0-2). With the victory Sunday, the Golden Knights became the first team in NHL history to record a home point streak of at least 11 games in each of their first two NHL seasons.

* Pacioretty is the 30th different player in 2018-19 to register consecutive game-winning goals. Meanwhile, only one other Golden Knights player has registered the game-winning goal in consecutive team games: James Neal, who did so in the first three games in franchise history from Oct. 6-10, 2017.

DEFENSEMEN IGNITE OFFENSE AS HURRICANES WIN FOURTH STRAIGHT
Dougie Hamilton
extended his goal streak to a career-best three contests and was one of five different skaters to find the back of the net as theHurricanes (19-17-5, 43 points) earned their fourth consecutive victory.

* Hamilton - one of three Hurricanes blueliners to score Sunday - is the seventh different defenseman to score at least one goal in three consecutive team games this season. The others: John Klingberg (Oct. 9-15), John Carlson (Oct. 17-22), Neal Pionk (Nov. 4-9), Aaron Ekblad (Nov. 13-17), Matt Dumba (Nov. 13-17) and Mark Giordano (Dec. 12-16). No Hurricanes/Whalers blueliner has ever scored in four straight team games.

* Sunday's contest marked the first time that three different Hurricanes defensemen each scored in the same game since March 21, 2009 when Anton Babchuk, Joe Corvo and Joni Pitkanen each found the back of the net.

* Justin Faulk opened the scoring with the man advantage in the first 1:12 of the contest and Brock McGinn followed with a shorthanded tally 4:28 into the game as the Hurricanes became the first team in the past 10 years to score a power-play goal and a shorthanded goal within the first five minutes of a game. The last to do so: New Jersey on Dec. 27, 2008 at NYR.

COYOTES YOUTH SHINE IN IMPRESSIVE SHOWING

The Coyotes benefited from a five-goal outing, led by 24-year-old Alex Galchenyuk’s first three-point performance (1-2—3) with the club, en route to halting a three-game slide (0-2-1). Arizona posted a shutout victory by a margin of at least five goals for the second time in as many seasons: also March 31, 2018 (6-0 W vs. STL).

* Clayton Keller (20 years, 161 days) found the back of the net to boost his team-leading totals to 9-21—30 in 42 GP this season and now sits three points shy of reaching the 100-point milestone (32-65—97 in 127 GP). Since the team moved to the state of Arizona in 1996-97, no player to debut with the club has reached 100 points in 130 or fewer contests. The fastest to 100 career NHL points in franchise history: Teemu Selanne, who reached the benchmark in the first 68 games of his rookie campaign with Winnipeg.

BUNDLE OF BENCHMARKS
* Capitals forward Evgeny Kuznetsov (0-2—2) collected an assist on Michal Kempny’s game-winning goal with 3:52 remaining in regulation to eclipse the 300-point milestone (87-214—301 in 375 GP). He is the eighth player to debut with the Capitals franchise and record his 300th point in 375 games or fewer with the club, a list that includes current teammates Alex Ovechkin (237 GP) and Nicklas Backstrom (293 GP).

* Jets forward Mark Scheifele (22-28—50) joined captain Blake Wheeler (6-45—51) as the second Winnipeg skater to reach the 50-point mark this season. The 2018-19 campaign (41 GP) features the second-fastest instance in Jets/Thrashers history in which two players reached the 50-point mark, trailing only the 2005-06 campaign (IIya Kovalchuk and Marc Savard in 40 GP).

* Anaheim’s Bob Murray became the 32nd general manager in NHL history to reach the 1,000-game milestone and fifth to do so after also playing in 1,000 career NHL games, joining Bobby Clarke, Bob Gainey, Bob Pulford and Doug Wilson.

* Oilers goaltender Cam Talbot made 39 saves to record his first shutout of the season and the 20th of his NHL career. He is one of 25 active netminders to reach the 20-shutout milestone. The 39-save outing marked the second-highest total in a shutout performance of Talbot’s career, one shy of his personal best (40 on March 18, 2016 vs. VAN).

POTENT FLAMES TRAVEL TO CHICAGO TO WRAP UP ROAD TRIP

The Flames (26-13-4, 56 points), who sit in first place in the Pacific Division and Western Conference standings, travel to Chicago with their sights on a third win in four contests. Calgary ranks second in the NHL with 153 goals for in 2018-19, behind only Tampa Bay (176).

* Matthew Tkachuk has collected seven points in his last four contests and sits one tally shy of reaching the 20-goal mark for the second time in as many seasons.
