from Elliott Teaford of the OC Register,
The Ducks’ dressing room was as subdued as ever Sunday at Honda Center. No one raised his voice in anger, muttered profanely or tossed his equipment in frustration after a 4-0 loss to the Edmonton Oilers extended their losing streak to a franchise record-tying eight consecutive games.
Their search for answers continued in vain, after they dominated the play for extended stretches but couldn’t score and failed to rally from an early deficit, after their power play failed to click on three chances and they surrendered a shorthanded goal.
What will it take to end the skid?
“Work,” team captain Ryan Getzlaf said after the Ducks fell to 0-6-2 in their past eight games, after a four-game winning streak and victories in nine of 10. “Simple as that. It’s digging deep. Working in practice, working in games and working for our chances and opportunities.”
Getting emotional, letting their frustrations get the better of them, won’t cut it.
