The Golden Knights goin’ to the Stanley Cup final?
Well, you’re in the right place to make that kind of bet. While it’s no longer such as audacious long shot with the expansion wonders leading the Western Conference, coach Gerard Gallant will caution his team has played just 36 games, not yet at their halfway point.
But what a script-defying start in a definitely non-traditional hockey market. A few familiar names, but mostly a blend of 30 other teams’ fringe players, who’ve had to go through five goaltenders already, selling out almost every game without reliance on casino comp tickets or papering the house in other ways.
“I got this job in April and the fan response has been unbelievable,” Gallant said. “No one imagined it would go this well. Hockey’s really caught on here.”
