New York Rangers Top Games On Secondary Ticket Market

08/28/2015 at 7:30am EDT

by Joe Sudberg,

The New York Rangers were one game away from back-to-back Stanley Cup appearances before being upended by the Tampa Bay Lightning in last season’s Eastern Conference Finals, a game that the Rangers had everything going for them prior to the puck dropping.

With the support of the Madison Square Garden fans and Henrik Lundqvist’s stellar Game 7 record, it was almost expected to see the Rangers get another shot at Lord Stanley’s Cup. But the night belonged to the Lightning, who moved on to the Stanley Cup Final where they would lose to the Chicago Blackhawks in six games.

The roster will have a couple of changes this season, as veteran presence Martin St. Louis has retired, Carl Hagelin, Ryan Haggerty and Cam Talbot were traded, and signed Viktor Stalberg and Jarret Stoll during the free agency period. An already talented team seems to have bolstered up in some spots where it was deemed necessary, and are looking to regain their place at the top of the Eastern Conference.

With the schedule released for the upcoming season, why not look into some of the premier games next season in terms of secondary market ticket prices? The information provided below is per TiqIQ.com.

3/12/2016 | Detroit Red Wings vs. New York Rangers | Joe Louis Arena | Average Price: $889.31 | Get-in Price: $55

10/7/2015 | Chicago Blackhawks vs. New York Rangers | United Center | Average Price: $638.62 | Get-in Price: $212

12/2/2015 | New York Islanders vs. New York Rangers | Barclays Center | Average Price: $444.72 | Get-in Price: $112

The most expensive Rangers tickets on the secondary market are for their game in March of next year against the Detroit Red Wings. The Tampa Bay Lightning eliminated the Red Wings in the first round of the last season’s playoffs. The average price of $889.31 is high for now, but will drop closer to the get-in price of $55 (most likely somewhere in between) when the game approaches. For Rangers fans in the area, cheap hotels near Joe Louis Arena can be reserved through Hipmunk.com for fans looking to take in a road game against one of the most storied teams in the league.

The Rangers move on to the defending champions for their second-most expensive game on the secondary market. The Blue Shirts face the Blackhawks early in the season in October and that affair is warranting an average ticket price of $638.62 with a get-in price of $212.

A third premier game is against the now cross-town rivals of the Rangers, the New York Islanders. The Islanders will have all the hype behind them this season as the franchise calls the Barclays Center their home for the first time. Fans of either side flying in to see the new spark develop between these two clubs can find New York City flight deals on Hipmunk as well. With a new stadium to invigorate the surrounding Brooklyn area, New York will have another team to think about when deciding who to root for in New York.
