Hey Tim, tell us what you REALLY think, eh?!
PS--shootouts are a complete joke
Please please please DUMP the shootout!
Yes please x 1000
Tim - is it against the rules? No? Okay great, moving on.
I really don't care what they do during shootouts. The intention is to end a game and assign a point, while providing some entertainment to the fans. I don't think we need to bring in rules about minimum speeds. Are you upset when the player makes a large swinging arc during a shootout? When they do a spin move?
Of course I can imagine a proposal for some sort of shot clock, which would probably earn Gary's approval because they'd have to mount it where the players can view it, and then they can sell more ad space.
To stop this send a checker starting at the blue line. I would actually just love to end the shootout. Just play the 3 on 3 for 5 minutes, if no one scored it's a tie game. With 3 on 3, after you gain entrance into the opposing teams end you can't come back over center ice.
If he does it again, poke check him or stop the puck when he shoots it.
Get rid of the loser point and the point system altogether, if we MUST have a winner every game. I'm good with ties, but that's not coming back. Extend 3v3 OT to 10 min, and make the red line into the blue line both ways. Making coaches roll four or five lines 3v3 would end things before a shootout almost all the time.
