"When you watch games, when you watch (Carolina Hurricanes coach Rod) Brind'Amour on the bench and you watch (New York Islanders coach) Barry (Trotz) on the bench and (Boston Bruins coach) Bruce Cassidy, guys that I know, they're right into it, they're fighting for their team. I think that's what you miss when you've been involved in the game for your whole life. As a coach for X amount of years, you miss the fact that you're not there being able to battle for your team."
"I would love to coach as soon as I can. I know I've been around for a while. But I didn't start until I was 40, so I haven't been around that long and I think I have the energy, because this is all I've done my whole life, to do it again. You've gotten awards and won divisions and that, but the goal since I've been 4 years old is to win the Stanley Cup.
"So I want to be in a position to have one more shot at it, at least."
