Absolute gong show. Get the moving trucks and send em to Utah.
Agree, but the PHX area is one of the largest TV markets in the country....bigger than even Las Vegas, Orlando, and Denver.
Some sports business journals are reporting that the SLC area is growing at a rapid pace and they want to take advantage of that.
It's time. (honestly it's well past time). Utah wants a team - this is an easy way to solve many problems and get this team out of Arizona.
It makes so much sense, which probably means it won't happen.

This statement describes the modus operandi of the NHL brass to a T over the last 30 years.
To the league it might make more sense to locate the Coyotes to another "experimental" market, one where no owner is willing to pay the $750M for an expansion team. The owners are way more interested in dividing up $750 than a relatively small relocation fee. Salt Lake looks like a better fit for expansion.
Either way the situation in Arizona needs resolution. They've been trying to rectify it for almost 25 years now. Not even have that effort was made to keep any other team from moving.
