from Dave Hutchinson of the Star Ledger,
After a pair of two-game auditions (four games total) on the first line with Jagr and Zajac, rookie Reid Boucher was sent down to AHL Albany on Wednesday and replaced by rookie call-up Joe Whitney this morning. Whitney will now join Jagr and Zajac on the top line in Friday night’s home game against the Capitals in his NHL debut.
Jagr, who has played with nearly a half dozen different line combinations this season, had 10 goals and 10 assists in his first 24 games with Zajac and Zubrus. He's tied for the team lead in goals with 16.
“It keeps changing,” Jagr told The Star-Ledger this afternoon. “You get new guys coming in and out. I don’t really like it but that’s the way it is.
“This game is too quick to play with guys you don’t know about. Sometimes you have to do things when you don’t even see them. You have to have a sense that he should be there. The game is so quick. We’ll see what happens.”
