• Is it just me, or is the entire hockey world waiting for Patrick Roy to erupt, like old Leafs coach John Brophy on a bad hair day? Roy has been very well mannered, as his Avs sit in last place in the Central, a Division they won with 112 points last season. GM Craig MacTavish gambled that a pair of No. 2’s in Ben Scrivens and Viktor Fasth could combine to be a No 1. Instead, the Oilers get second-rate goaltending most nights.
