NEW YORK (March 12, 2024) New York Rangers forward Matt Rempe has been suspended for four games, without pay, for elbowing New Jersey Devils defenseman Jonas Siegenthaler during NHL Game No. 1028 in New York on Monday, March 11, the National Hockey Leagues Department of Player Safety announced today.
The incident occurred at 19:25 of the second period. Rempe was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for elbowing.
Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, Rempe will forfeit $17,083.32. The money goes to the Players Emergency Assistance Fund.

That was far worse than what Perron did, IMO. It's always a crap shoot with DOPS
I have to strain to understand how Perrons behavior with his captain laying out cold on the ice is worse than what Morgan Reilly did or this. At least Perron had a reasonable motive.
The problem is, it's not over. It's the very beginning, and he'll only get better at making it less obvious.
He's not there to score, he's there to scare. And until the league gets serious, it's not going to improve.
I'm betting he trucks somebody again before the playoffs start....
agree, hes not done. might be next season but if he sticks itll happen again.
