Now, we all know Rogers Place is the best arena in the NHL, right?

No matter what awaits the Oilers (we've already reported that the internet has projected a rough season) its an inspirational place to play that could help to defy expectations.

With online sports betting in Canada, you can have a flutter on the 2019/20 season. There's a lot to do this year for the Oilers - is it going to be a building season, or will they challenge?

Whatever happens, we've drawn up this list of the top locations to visit so you can find your new second favourite venue and appreciate the joys of home, sweet home.

Rogers Place, Edmonton

When it comes to stadiums, hockey fans, without a doubt, create the best atmospheres. Rogers Place was a long time in the making but the wait couldn't have been more worth it.

The arena is clearly top of this list - a stunning modern building in downtown Edmonton, Rogers has been home to the Oilers for three years now. Even though we all have nostalgia for Rexall Place, the old arena was in great need of updating and the Oilers now have the stadium they deserve.

Bell Centre, Montréal

One of the Original Six, the Montréal Canadiens have been a part of the NHL since 1942, meaning this is a great addition to your NHL visit-list. There's also always a great fan experience including laser-image presentations making the trip across Canada worth it for a travelling supporter.

Bell MTS Place, Winnipeg

Opened in 2004, Bell MTS Place has since been renowned the NHL over for being small but packed with atmosphere. Home to the Jets, the arena is always full, loud and welcoming to first-time visitors - perfect if you ever fancy a trip to Winnipeg.

PPG Paints Arena, Pittsburgh

Following the closure of the Igloo (the Mellon Arena) in 2010, the PPG Paints Arena was unveiled as the new home of the Penguins. It's a theme of the NHL, but the atmosphere here is also fantastic and the arena is located centrally in downtown Pittsburgh making it a great location to add to your list of arenas to visit.

Madison Square Garden, New York

Not many people need too much enticing to visit New York - the Big Apple is among the most sought-after locations to visit across the globe. However, hockey and basketball fans will be keen to catch a game at Madison Square Garden to watch the Rangers or the Knicks. Between 2011 and 2013 this iconic Manhattan-based venue underwent a billion-dollar renovation project and now boasts an enhanced fan experience.

We know you're making Rogers Place your first NHL arena of choice, but if and when you're on your travels, add these other awesome locations to your must-visit-list.
