Arizona Coyotes Statement On Alex Galchenyuk

07/14/2023 at 12:08pm EDT

SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA --- The Arizona Coyotes announced today that the Club has terminated the contract of forward Alex Galchenyuk.

The Club has issued the following statement:

"We are aware of the incident involving Alex Galchenyuk and strongly condemn this type of behavior. Once the Club was made aware of the allegations, we immediately began the process of terminating his Standard Player's Contract through the proper channels in conjunction with the National Hockey League. As a result, the Arizona Coyotes today have exercised the team's right to terminate the contract of Alex Galchenyuk due to a material breach of the terms of his Standard Player's Contract. The Club will have no further comment at this time."

Again, what am I missing??

" Allegations" as in nothing proven.

Hit and run damage to personal property... like a fence was damaged?

This triggers instant action by the Team and League when they were made "aware of the allegations, we immediately began the process of terminating his Standard Player's Contract"

What are they leaving out?

I checked the local news and not much more reported there.

from Katie Strang of The Athletic,

The police arrived on the scene after a report that the driver of a white BMW struck a curb, a sign and a parked SUV in a parking lot and that the driver, later identified as Galchenyuk, was walking around in an unsteady fashion and had been seen lying down in the parking lot, according to the report.

In the report, an officer detailed how Galchenyuk was curt and profane when the police began asking him questions after seeing him laying on the ground approximately 20 feet from a car and a sign that was damaged. According to the report, Galchenyuk was helped back into the car by a second individual (later identified as his father) and began making erratic movements once inside the car. Galchenyuk told an officer I will chop all of you fs and began to reach under his seat, prompting a warning from the officer.

The officer described a struggle while Galchenyuk was placed under arrest, leading the two officers on the scene to assist in placing him in handcuffs while on the ground.

With Galchenyuk in the back of the patrol car en route to the police station, he allegedly made a number of threatening comments to the officers, according to the report, including:

Im gunna (sic) chop you and your daughter.

Let me go or I will make one phone call.

Youll never see your family, how scary is that?

One phone call and youre all dead, your whole family, your whole blood line is dead.

Galchenyuk told one officer that hed make one call to Russia and have the officers wife and daughters kidneys cut out.

At first it seemed like an overaction by the Yotes but now I get it.

I've been around plenty of people who get stupid when they drink, but to make threats like that is not a good image, and it makes you think about a person's true colors.

Chet

I imagine hell learn from this, but that kind of shit is absolutely bananas. Why if his dad was there was anybody driving? Its call Uber, you jackoffs. Terrible judgment.

biv

If you havent already, check the reported details in the police report and itll be quite clear.

Car ride sounds a bit like a miked up Saturday Hockey Night in Canada transcript.  Seriously, the Russian mob takes hitman orders on cops from drunken hockey players on Saturday night? C'mon.

Then this little gem found its way to print...
He also began calling the officer the N-word on multiple occasions, authorities said.

Boom.... Bobs your uncle. Later dates Alex.
