Anthony DeAngelo Suspended Three Games For Physical Abuse Of An Official

NEW YORK (Jan. 1, 2017) – Arizona Coyotes defenseman Anthony DeAngelo has been suspended for three games, without pay, for violating Rule 40.4 (Physical Abuse of Officials) during NHL Game No. 556 in Calgary on Saturday, Dec. 31, the National Hockey League announced today.

The incident occurred at 20:00 of the second period. DeAngelo was assessed a game misconduct for abuse of officials.

Under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement and, based on his average annual salary, DeAngelo will forfeit $14,388.90. The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
