there was a time i felt bad for them having all these crazy playoff losses and a SC drought since the Vietnam war was just warming up. they no longer have my sympathy. you can love or hate the Dallas cowboys; at least theyve won a title in the mobile phone era!

I dont think cross checks compare to this.

I think the comparable was the 21 game suspension Dale Hunter got for hitting Pierre Turgeon after a goal.

This could have been a career ended for the victim of the incident. It happened before.

But notice the difference in tone with the coaches in that era vs the Leafs head coach:

Pierre probably was never the same player. His numbers dwindled, declined following that incident, he was eventually traded to Montreal.
