was anyone else confused by the idea of retiring Brent Seabrooks number? 

It's Chelios (he wore #7 there but #24 everywhere else). They are doing it before the game against the Wings. Announced it at the Pearl Jam concert a few days ago.

Odd thing is that he spent more time in a Detroit uniform (unless you count games as he was mainly a healthy scratch at 47 years old).

Got to put butts in seats during a rebuild....I mean rigging the draft for the generational talent won't do that. Nice way to change the narrative now that Bowman and Q are going to be bringing up the franchises dirty laundry again.

I mean he could be honored in Detroit--but rafters would be pushing it (esp when Fedorov's 91 isn't going up anytime soon).
