Video- Milan Lucic On Receiving A Game Ejection

from Lisa Dillman of the LA Times,

First, the controversy and some choice words afterward from Kings left wing Milan Lucic. Lucic was ejected from the game, at 6:55 of the third period for taking a swing and connecting with Coyotes defenseman Kevin Connauton.

Lucic said he feared his wrist was broken, at first. He said his whole hand went numb and he couldn't feel his hand, explaining his reaction to the slash.

“Thankfully, X-rays came back negative,” he said. “If I don't react, I don't think he even calls a penalty. The same guy [referee] Brad Meier, I think this is the fourth time he's kicked me out of a game.

“It's always the same thing with him. Guys can take liberties on me and it's not a penalty. If I do something, I'm automatically kicked out of the game. It's just unfortunate it is that way with him. Just gotta move on and not get frustrated by the referees in the game.”

Yeah it’s one refs fault he has a history and reputation for being a cheap shot, nut spearing POS.
He earned his reputation the old fashioned way.

Is there a less mature player in hockey? It’s always someone else’s fault.
Love how, in his genius mind, a pattern in his own behavior is automatically rationalized
as problem with a ref who is always wrong because the ref picks on him for no reason.

He’s so tough that, one slash and he panicked and thought maybe his career was over…
so, he had to attack…yep, pretty much another non-fighter. If Lucic doesn’t want
to have to fight gigantic, one-dimensional enforcers, why is it ok for him to go ape-sh!t
in response to a fairly normal play against someone who is obviously no match for him?
He is pretty much the only guy in the league who still does that stuff, again and again…

If refs actually did call all the spears and sucker punches and unsportsmanlike conduct penalties
and the league took his pattern of behavior seriously, he’d be hit a lot harder than a game misconduct.

Looks like Lucic got Lucic’d.
Guess he doesn’t like the taste of his own medicine.

I hope he gets tossed for at least 5 games, but I’m guessing 2.

I’m actually of the opinion that he would’t have gotten any extra discipline if he hadn’t called out the ref.
