from Aaron Portzline of Puck-Rakers,
It's looking increasingly likely that the Blue Jackets and goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky will reach July 1 (Monday) without a new contract for the Vezina Trophy winner. For that matter, it could drag into free agency on July 5, too.
Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen and Bobrovsky's agent, Paul Theofanous, met Wednesday in New York and had a phone conversation this morning. All indications are that no progress is being made, that the process may have even headed backward this morning.
There are no plans, as of now, to meet again.
