Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks President & General Manager Mike Gillis announced today that the Canucks have signed defenceman Adam Polasek. In keeping with club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Polasek, 19, recorded 39 points (7-32-39) in 61 games with the QMJHL PEI Rocket in 2010.11 to finish second in team scoring among defencemen. He led all defencemen in scoring in 2009.10 with 41 points (13-28-41) and added 91 penalty minutes.
The 6’3” defenceman dressed for the Czech Republic U18 team at the 2009 U18 World Junior Championships, recording five points (2-3-5) in six games.
The Ostrava, CZE, native was originally selected 145th overall by Vancouver in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
