After missing the playoffs the last six seasons, the Wings can at least reasonably think about the possibility these days. The Wings moved to 11-5-4, seven points ahead of last season's pace after 20 games, while extending their current win streak to four games.

"You can see there's a good vibe around the guys right now," Lalonde said. "There's some momentum. (Friday) was an excellent five-on-five game, pretty much a complete game from us."...

"Special teams was excellent, the difference in the game," Lalonde said. "It was one of those nights we couldn't get that fourth goal and extend the lead. They (the Coyotes) don't need much for offense, they're very high-end skill. We played a real good game, strong game five-on-five."...

"The biggest thing is we're playing for each other and it's paying off," Hronek said.

Fun game! I watched it at the Cadieux. Great crowd. The place went nuts when Larkin scored. Even with e good band in the background. Go Wings!!!

Its like everything he shoots is going in, teammate Lucas Raymond said of Hronek. Everyone knows he has a great shot. Hes been getting it off now and I guess everyone is seeing it.

I feel like weve seen it for a long time. We see it every time in practice. Its fun. Were just trying to feed him the puck....

Offense from the D, its going in right now but were playing the right way., Detroit coach Derek Lalonde said Our D are not chasing offense. Theyre joining the rush properly.

We have some structure we want in the O-zone, theyre doing it. Maybe (theres) a little confidence now. Obviously, I dont think the shooting percentage from our D is sustainable, but its going in because were playing the right way.
