Wings led 1-0 after the first period. A solid period for the Wings but Larkin took a puck off his knee early, tried to come back but he headed back to the room after falling on a faceoff.
Florida dominated Detroit in the second, but thanks to Lyon, the score stood at 1-0.
Florida scored two goals in less than three minutes to take a 2-1 lead in the third. Larkin then scored the tying goal and we are tied at 2-2.
The game went to OT with Detroit desperately needing the second point. No scoring in the extra five minutes so the shootout will give us a winner.

The Wing stole an OT point against arguably the best team in the NHL in their building. It was ugly and flat out depressing at times, but Ill take it with how things have been going. Today is a net positive.

I thought we played as well as we could. I did not expect a point, but when you have 4 on 3 in OT you must win the game. It was absolutely depressing watching Kane, Cat, Larkin and Gost not able to enter the zone for 1:45 of that PP

Ghost and cat look like they cant wait for golf. Cat wont shoot and when he does he cant hit the broad side of a barn. Its almost almost like hes afraid of the puck. And ghost I honestly dont know if he even knows what position he is playing
Going to be tough to get in only getting a point a game but it's better then no points. Islanders and caps both have tough games today.
The wings aren't out, but they're still down and not doing themselves many favors.
Caps lost in a shootout. Bruins killed off 4 minute PP in OT. D-man won it on their shootout. Both teams looked like they were playing for OT starting about the 7 minute mark.
Swayman was huge in OT.
NYI lost to Tampa.
Wings now 2 points behind the FLYERS with a game at hand...Flyers now 3-5-2 in their last 10.
I said it the other day but the Flyers are the team the Wings need to put a bullseye on, not the caps or Islanders. It's going to come down to who sucks less: wings or flyers.
problem is they have games @Buffalo, @Columbus, and @Montreal in addition to the harder opponents of vs NYI, @NRY, vs NJD, and vs Wash. But the game @Columbus is the 2nd of a back-to-back.
Larkin is Heart. Man oh man.he left it all out there today..his linemate Raymond played soft and still needs to learn how to Back check. Dish looked like his own pack of Keystone cops out there again.Lyon was outstanding and look like the January Lyon. The Wings played decently and hard against one of the best and more physical teams in the league. They took the Panthers to a shootout. Not bad. Let's keep building on that. Go Lar King!! Go Wings!!!!
