Perron scores with 3 ticks left on the clock, to overtime again.
No scoring in OT and in the shootout, Kane with the only goal to win 5-4 but Detroit will miss the playoffs again due to a Washington win.

Yeah they did what they could do the last week, had to overcome a disastrous March.
They showed a lot of fight and character winning the last two games the way they did. Kudos to this Wings team for going out - guns blazin'.
I figured the Caps would beat the Flyers, but was hoping I would be wrong.😞

Watched most of the game - Listening to Mickey Redmond on the post game show - who is preaching a lot of sense now. They did what they had to do tonight - so - take comfort in that. Both Phila and Detroit let the Islanders and Capitals get back in it. Learn from it. Great that Perron scored with 3 seconds left...and that was such an exciting time.
Take comfort in that the Penguins are on the sidelines too.
But sorry it did not work out better for your guys.
Its tough, but we won out in the end. I think it only gets better from here on in. On the flip side Ill be an Isles fan for the rest of the season. Good luck with your run.☘

Watching that shootout, as soon as Larkin missed I knew they knew they were eliminated. Then Raymond gives the least-confident shot possible from a guy who's been on a tear. Finally when Kane takes care of business he looks dejected. It was obvious, they already knew.
Somehow it is fitting that Kane scored the last goal(ish) of the season. I'm sure he'll be gone, I would love to have him back. I feel we let him down.
Larry Murphy is drunk, pounding hot dogs, and yelling at the bally studio. That's fun, at least.

Yeah I wish they could have qualified almost as much for Kane as for Larkin. Im not convinced he wont be back.
on the TSN broadcast one of the insiders (Chris Johnston) talked during the 1st period intermission saying he previously spoke to Kane who said:
he wants to play multiple seasons. believes he will be stronger next year with a summer of training hasn't been able to do that the past few seasons. loved his time in Detroit, no question, and wants to be back if there is a fit there.
Im not convinced either. We gotta get our hands on a good goalie. Thats #1 on my list.
I think he will be back as well. He and his family seemed like they were enjoying his time here. Ive gotta believe GMSY knows you wont be able to replace what Kane brought with any other FA.

Carolina is SCARY. They take our game and SHOVE IT DOWN OUR THROATS. I think we have a puncher's chance with them - IF Freddy Andersen goes cold - if their NHL leading PP and 2nd ranked PK flop and if our Sebastian Aho outperforms their Sebastian Aho. Not likely, and work amongst the Coliseum/UBS Denizens is that Noah Dobson is out for the year. But Varly is in an outer-worldly zone and have been playing well. On paper not good. BUT I can sit here and tell you that I think the Isles can win the next game....rinse and repeat. But Carolina was my pre-season pick to win it all - and with Guentzel and other additions - they are TOUGH!
First Round tickets are $ 50.00 above season tix prices for Round 1. But how I wished we were playing the Rag$ in round 1 - we can take them :)
