Who Pays Gretzky Now?

Arizona courts rules against NHL in its claim that former owner Jerry Moyes should be held responsible for losses since 2009.

Court also rules that Moyes is not responsible for paying Wayne Gretzky more than 6.5 million dollars he is owed from the franchise.

from the Arizona Republic,

“We are continuing to review Judge Baum’s decision and to evaluate next steps,” NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly told The Arizona Republic in an e-mail. The NHL could appeal the ruling or move forward with the remaining portions of the case.

If Moyes legally doesn’t have to pay Gretzky then no one should pay him. Moyes whored the franchise to Gretzky and sold the team out with a river of debt from his other business activities. Gretzky made a bad deal with a bad guy, life sucks!
