Arizona courts rules against NHL in its claim that former owner Jerry Moyes should be held responsible for losses since 2009.

Court also rules that Moyes is not responsible for paying Wayne Gretzky more than 6.5 million dollars he is owed from the franchise.

“We are continuing to review Judge Baum’s decision and to evaluate next steps,” NHL Deputy Commissioner Bill Daly told The Arizona Republic in an e-mail. The NHL could appeal the ruling or move forward with the remaining portions of the case.
