Brendan Smith’s infraction cost him five games.  Here, it’s a match penalty plus four games.

I totally disagree with the top person who said 20 games. Yes it was a dirty hit but he isn’t a Matt Cooke who is constantly getting himself into hot water!!  I think 4 games is a good fit, but i’m a huge believer that if players get hurt bc of head checks that the person who injured that player should be out just as long! Especially when you see bone heads like Todd Bertuzzi still playing in the NHL making lots of money after that dirty beat down on Moore some 10 years ago!!  killed a young career that never had to a chance to lift off the ground!!
