The NHL just announced…

Montreal Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty faces a hearing Sunday afternoon with the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety for an incident in a Saturday night game against the New York Rangers.

Pacioretty was assessed a minor for boarding Rangers defenseman Ryan McDonagh at the 7:20 mark of the second period of the game at the Bell Center. McDonagh left the game and did not return.

Haha, good old Torts.

As for the hit I would probably say he gets a game or two. (history & injury).

Definitely boarding. Don’t know he left his feet. Didn’t see targeted head hit.

Forearm to the back of the neck, very dangerous hit.  Hard to tell from the replay how much he left his feet, but definitely suspension earning.

Just saw a review of the game. Pacioretty’s hit on mcdonagh was basically identical to mcdonagh’s on pacioretty on the previous shift. Only difference was McDonagh was in front of the glass when he was hit. Both of them should be minors since that’s the way the league wants to treat dangerous but “clean” hits from behind.

Looks like he definitely left his feet. And given that it was a boarding type hit, I think that warrants a suspension.  I did not see the McDonagh on Pac hit though.

I dunno, if he left it feet, to me, it was negligable.  More-so it was the high elbow and hitting with the intent to injure.

So long as the guy doesn’t try to get the cops to start a formal investigation the next time he gets laid out, keep playing how you play.  Dont’ be mad when it comes back around.

Reports surfacing no discipline against Pacioretty.
